Can you believe it? Another summer has come and (is almost) gone. But for marketing, communications and advertising professionals in Spokane, it’s time for celebration. Why? Because the Spokane Regional MarCom Association is back in session! Networking, learning and most importantly, BACON, await us all at another highly anticipated programming year at The Lincoln Center.
But before we pull out our power suits and business cards, let’s squeeze in the last bit of summer we can – MarCom style. Yep, that’s right! Today is our annual Summer Social event. That means it’s time to catch up with old friends and new, have a few drinks and get excited for the programming year ahead. Go to our website or Facebook page for more details!
That leads me to a not-so-subtle plug reminding you it’s time to renew your membership. Before I even officially moved to Spokane 6 years ago, MarCom was recommended to me. “Be sure you join MarCom immediately,” I was told. “The monthly breakfast meetings are so valuable – both the content and the networking.”
Well, after 6 years, I couldn’t agree more! With an integrated mix of programming and members from across the marketing, communications, PR, and advertising industry, it’s definitely the place to be. I think all members would agree – holding a membership in MarCom is well worth the price.
Another added benefit to the 2016 – 2017 programming year is our collaboration with fellow professional groups, the American Advertising Federation of Spokane and the Public Relations Society of America, Spokane Chapter. With your membership renewal at Spokane MarCom, you’ll receive two “golden tickets” to get entrance at member price for any PRSA or AAF event during this programming year. You can use both at PRSA, both at AAF, or one at each – it’s up to you! Our hope is that MarCom members will use this exclusive opportunity to expand their professional development into new areas within the industry.
In this same vein of collaboration with these groups, I encourage you to also watch for more information about a co-event between the three groups in mid-September. Save the date for Wednesday, September 21st for the first ever collaborative event from MarCom, AAF & PRSA - an exciting presentation from Disney Theatrical Group's Scott Hemerling! You won't want to miss it!
So get ready for another action-packed year at Spokane MarCom, everyone! It won’t disappoint!
I look forward to seeing everyone tonight at the Summer Social and at our first breakfast meeting on September 9.
