Wanted: Great Internship Hosts
So you looked at the headline for this article and wondered, "Is it a great internship, or are they looking for great hosts?" Well the answer is Yes! Both! It's a great 10-week internship for three talented college juniors that could bring one of them to work for you this summer. And your organization might be one of the three great locations for a MarCom intern to learn about the joys and challenges of communications, marketing and public relations.
So if you know a college junior (or senior who will not be graduating this spring), encourage them to apply for one of our competitive $2,500 internships for summer 2009. Here's the link to the Intern Application Form. And if you'd like to host one of these great interns, then here's the link to the Host Application Form for you to fill out. All applications are due Feb. 11 to MarCom Internship Chair John Carter. So download an application and send it in. Either way, it will be great!

January is another word for promise - the promise that another year stretches out before us in fits and starts, rain, snow, sleet and wind. Throw in five months of good old fashioned Spokane sunshine and voila! Another year under your belt. As you consider the year ahead, look to April with the sound of the SPARK Awards announcer saying “and the winner is…..” dancing in your head. But you have to have entered something in the annual awards event in order to hear that cranial voice as you accept your award ever so humbly! So don’t procrastinate. Make one of your New Year’s resolutions a commitment to enter your best work into the 2009 SPARK Awards competition. Then, make a point of attending the first meeting of the New Year on Friday, January 9th, 7:30 AM at the Spokane Club. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
