Spokane Regional MarCom Association was created in the 1960s as a networking and socializing group. It has grown to be a significant professional development organization with nearly every major Spokane employer represented among the membership.

The organization was originally called the Spokane Public Relations Council (SPRC). In 2007, the organization completed a rebranding effort – officially changing its name to the Spokane Regional Marketing Communications Association, or MarCom, and updating its mission statement – in order to better reflect the makeup of its membership and evolving communications industry.

MarCom’s mission is to be Spokane’s leading communication organization dedicated to advancing the integrated marketing communication profession through professional development, community impact, and a commitment to credibility.

MarCom is a 501 (c) 7 nonprofit organization registered with the State of Washington. As as non-profit social club, donations to MarCom are not tax deductable - full disclosure about what a 501 (c) 7 organization is from the IRS can be found here: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/eotopicg80.pdf
